Character Role Analysis

Cara and Conner

Where there are twins, there's competition. Cara and Conner don't generate the drama themselves, though; their parents are happy to do it for them. They push their kids to be perfect (o hai, title), pressuring them to get into their alma mater, Stanford. Cara responds by busting her butt to get in, but Conner responds by shooting himself. External pressure can drive you to success or it can drive you to a breakdown—or both. Cara, who's always gotten better grades than Conner, is the success side of the coin, while Conner's the breakdown side. Bummer.
