Pinocchio Scene 9 Summary

  • We see the Coachman riding in a cart with a big group of boys. Creepy. Pinocchio is up front next to a redheaded kid with a slingshot.
  • Luckily, Jiminy's along too—he hitched a ride on the bottom of the carriage.
  • The redhead introduces himself as Lampwick. What a name. Lampwick hasn't been to Pleasure Island before, but he's only heard good things.
  • The cart pulls aboard a steamboat and they're off. After some time, they reach the shore of an island with a large mountain jutting off the coast.
  • The kids rush outside. We see fireworks, carnival games, and roller-coasters. Whoa. This place looks amazing.
  • It's nuts. There's a section for fighting and another exclusively for underage tobacco use.
  • Pinocchio and Lampwick are wrecking a building that exists only to be destroyed. Pretty cool.
  • The Coachman is watching this from on high. Suddenly, he turns toward a group of shadowy figures and tells them to get going. The shadowy figures lock the door.
