- Tibby is interviewing Bailey for their movie, and while she does, Bailey wears the Pants, looking bruised and thin.
- Bailey discusses her fear: she will run out of time before she can understand people and they can understand her. Tibby's shocked by her wisdom and Bailey says, "I like that you let yourself be surprised" (14.32).
- Tibby writes to Carmen, sending the pants her way along with a note that she's not sure what to report about her time with them yet.
- We are back to Caldera, where Grandma still can't believe that Kostos is a perverted creep, and Lena, consumed with guilt, confides to Effie.
- Effie reminds Lena how much Kostos really liked her.
- Bridget tries to call Tibby but she's not home, so she leaves a message with Loretta who speaks broken English.
- Carmen is still wearing the Pants and is still mad. Albert comes home from work and it's the usual, "Hi honey, how was your day?"—and, as usual, Carmen says it was awful.
- Dad doesn't listen though, so Carmen walks out, enraged.
