Character Analysis
Hannah is a "heavy, round-faced woman" (37.9) who comes to sing some of the old songs for Somiss. Since Somiss isn't there, Sadima greets her at the door and learns the songs from her. She and her family sell honey in the city, and she agrees to come back to sing the songs for Sadima until she's learned them all. Sadima learns the song for a long life first, and she sings it over Franklin at night when he sleeps.
