Peter is an everyman who just happens to have superpowers. As a recent high school graduate, living in the city and pining for the girl next door, he's totally relatable. At the same time, he's a legit hero, fighting crime and saving lives. Spider-Man is his story. The fact that the movie is named after him—well, his alter ego—is a pretty big giveaway.
