The Adventures of Augie March has some sexually graphic language and several sex scenes. The main character, Augie March, has multiple partners. His encounters include casual sex with strangers, flings with engaged and married women, sex within long-term relationships, and a birthday trip to a prostitution house. None of these seemed to follow the rule of what we today call safe sex, but then Comstock laws against contraception were still a thing at this time.
