Okay, it's starting to feel like we're picking on Chunk a little bit. It's not on purpose, we swear.
One of the boy's braver moves comes when he voluntarily introduces himself to the "creature" in the basement. He could have stayed silent and kept to himself, hoping for the best, but instead he acknowledged the (not quite literal) elephant in the room, and bravely got the words out…eventually.

All right, so the fact that Brand has the hots for Andy might be motivating his heroic act of leaping off the plank and into the water to rescue the object of his affection. But that doesn't mean it isn't still courageous. He could have hurt himself from the fall, or drowned, or been shot by a Fratelli, so he was risking plenty to save his damsel in distress.
