Don Alexandro Arana

Owner of the slaves and friend to Don Benito. He is killed and his skeleton tied to the front of the ship after the revolt.

Luys Galgo

A Spanish sailor who tries to tell Delano about the slave revolt. He is killed by the rebels.

Hermenegildo Gandix

A Spanish sailor kept alive after the revolt, but killed during the American attack on the rebels.

Raneds

A navigator killed following the slave rebellion.

Atufal

A large black man who wears chains during Delano's visit in order to fool him. He is said to have been a king in his home country, and is second in command to Babo after the slave revolt.

Francesco

A mulatto who was Alexandro Aranda's steward before the slave revolt. He participated in the revolt.

José

Aranda's black cabin boy. He provided information which helped Babo and the others stage the successful rebellion.

Dago

A slave who participates in the revolt.

Black elders who pick oakum on deck during Delano's visit and watch out for trouble.
