The Mestizo

Wait, what? You thought the lieutenant would be named here? He does play an antagonistic role, to be sure, but we're giving the honor to the priest's betrayer, the mestizo or half-caste. He's more of a danger to the priest because he sees through his disguises and more often has him in his power. And he knows how to manipulate the priest so as to lure him into the trap.
