Thelma & Louise Scene 12 Summary

  • Louise gets pulled over for speeding. Can you blame her?
  • When the cop takes Louise into his car with him, Thelma, or rather Thelma's gun, appears, attached to Thelma's hand. The gun makes its way to the policeman's forehead.
  • Like a pro, Thelma directs Louise to take the cop's gun and blow out his radio.
  • Then Thelma and Louise—politely, mind you—lock the cop in the trunk of his car and take off.
  • Once out of the state, Louise calls Hal another time and tells him the whole thing was an accident.
  • Hal gets it, but he says that since they won't come back for questioning, they're gonna be charged with murder.
  • As a side note, Hal also lets Louise know that he knows "what happened to her in Texas."
  • Realizing that Louise has been on the phone too long, Thelma slams it down, but it's too late: their call has been traced.
  • The FBI goes off in search of the criminal duo, with Hal tagging along.
