Since Wings is not a book about birds, insects, or airplanes, you'd be guessing correctly if you thought the title refers to something supernatural (seeing as people don't normally have wings). Come to think of it, we're not even sure if supernatural is the right term for the faeries and trolls that populate the book, since they're for sure a part of nature, just a part that we humans don't usually encounter.
But we're going to run with this idea of the supernatural anyway, since there is magic in the book, such as healing elixirs and enticing spells. And like, what else do you call it when a flower sprouts out of your back? Beats us, that's for sure.
