First Day Back in School—Monday
- After English class, the Detentionheads corner Vera and ask her how her mom is; apparently they think that Vera's been out visiting her mom in Las Vegas.
- Jenny points out that prostitution is legal in Nevada, and Vera just ignores her.
- At lunch, Vera sits in the back of the cafeteria with all the other kids who don't have friends.
- In the afternoon, she goes to see the school guidance counselor, who's keeping an eye on her for her dad.
