Miss Kenton

Miss Kenton is Stevens's love interest, but not in a torso-baring, romance-novel kind of way (although judging by Mr. Stevens's interest in romance novels, perhaps he's thought of her busting out of her bodice on the cover of a Harlequin).

Miss Kenton is the goal of Stevens's road trip. When it becomes clear that she is not returning to Darlington Hall, his heart is broken.
