Character Analysis
Mr. Graham is perhaps Stevens's most significant butler friend, and Stevens remembers their conversations fondly. While they may never have shared their personal feelings with one another, both were equally committed to their work as butlers, and Stevens cherishes their conversations about their profession.
Also, Mr. Graham helps Stevens understand Miss Kenton's desire for marriage. Sadly for Stevens, he loses touch with Mr. Graham after the war.
