- Suddenly two riders approach with a letter from a nearby general (most likely asking Denisov to join his detachment and do the raid together).
- Denisov reads the letter and realizes that one of the riders is Petya Rostov. A familiar face.
- Petya is psyched to a crazed degree and is totally bromancing it up with Denisov. He decides to stay with Denisov's band and join the raid.
