During Eva's letters, she writes about her attempts to have a baby, and you must know how that happens. (It doesn't involve a stork.) Because Franklin was there, Eva spares us most of the details. What she doesn't spare us are descriptions of Kevin, her son, masturbating where she can see it. Eva gives us the dirty details because Franklin never knew about it, and she feels the need to explain it. Because Kevin is her son, and a crazy person, these scenes are horrific, and not remotely close to erotic.
