Glory

68 teams, four regions, countless totally inaccurate fan prediction brackets, and one national champion. Welcome to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship, perhaps the biggest stage in all of college sports. This is March Madness.

March Madness is a total gauntlet. The best D-I teams duke it out for the chance to cut down the net and hoist up the championship trophy. The award for the Most Outstanding Player goes to the best guy on the championship team.

Now we know who to put our money on.

Come springtime, the entire nation focuses on this multi-week event. Just about every American, including the president, fills out a bracket. (Maybe he knows something we don't.)

Additionally, there are a number of collegiate MVP-type trophies awarded by different groups. Most notable among these prizes are the Associated Press College Basketball Player of the Year award, the Oscar Robertson Trophy, and the Naismith College Player of the Year. In 2014, Doug McDermott of Creighton University took all of these honors home (source). What a beast.
