Famous Athletes
Tom Daley. He may only be twenty years old, but he sure is accomplished. Daley, an English diver, has won the Bronze medal in ten-meter platform diving at the 2012 Olympics, has won numerous Gold medals at the World Junior Championships, and has been named Young Sports Personality of the Year by BBC three times.
He was practically made the face of the 2012 Olympics in London, and he's even got his own TV show (source). We're hoping it's called The Daley Show.
Barbara Gilders. In what must have been one heck of a sibling rivalry, Barbara followed her brother, Fletcher, into the world of professional diving. Gilders had success at the Pan American Games, but never did win an Olympic medal.
Greg Louganis. A gold medalist at the Olympics, best-selling author, and three-time NCAA Champion, Louganis got his start at UC Irvine and went on to become one of the most famous American divers in history.
Cynthia Potter. Cynthia Potter might not be a household name, but she did qualify for four separate Olympic Diving Teams. She can now be heard as a sports broadcaster for diving.
