Although it's against the rules for men and woman to interact at the clinic, rules never stopped James Frey. He and Lilly have a few romantic encounters in the woods outside. If that was it, we could rate this book PG, because they barely do more than kiss and lie down fully clothed on a bed of pine needles.

But then Bobby's friend describes how Lilly was raped by a drug dealer and fourteen of his friends. He doesn't try to hide how horrible it is, either—in fact, the guy seems to enjoy talking about it, which makes the scene even more uncomfortable.

Trying to choose the cleanest line out of two paragraphs worth of text, this is the tamest we could come up with: "Fifteen guys got in line and they put Lilly facedown on the floor and they started f***ing her" (3.4.265). That's something no one should have to suffer through, and many people won't want to read about it, either.
