The White Raiders

It might be tempting to think of racism in general as the antagonist in this book, but since the protagonist is white, this doesn't seem quite right. Plus, the White Raiders are the guys who directly get in Ben's way time and again. Whether they're riding up to the house he's staying in with pitchforks in hand, hanging him from a tree, or cheating in court, the White Raiders stop at nothing to do their best to prevent Ben from ending their reign of terror in Eudora.
