Character Analysis
Not only is Evandale another of the male figures who appear in The Black Prince without ever having first names attached to them, but he's also another of the characters who doesn't actually make an appearance as a living person anywhere in the novel.
Evandale is the man Christian marries after becoming divorced from Bradley Pearson, and Bradley describes him as "a rich unlettered American" (1.1.31). By the time Christian returns to London at the beginning of Bradley's narrative, Evandale has died, and Christian is a prospective catch once again.
