Character Analysis
Colonel "Bat" Guano is the suspicious soldier who finds Mandrake locked in Ripper's office. Having figured out the recall code that will stop Plan R, Mandrake begs Guano to help him find a way to call the President. Guano doesn't believe a word of it at first, accusing Mandrake of "preversions." (He means "perversions.")
GUANO: I think you're some kind of deviated prevert. And I think General Ripper found out about your preversion, and that you were organizing some kind of mutiny of preverts. Now, move!
Eventually, though, Mandrake convinces the soldier to let him use a pay phone. Guano even shoots a Coke machine to get Mandrake change, though he warns him:
GUANO: If you don't get the President of the Unites States on that phone, you know what's going to happen to you? [...] You're going to have to answer to the Coca-Cola Company.
Guano's all about threats. Even though he does come to his senses in the end, isn't the brightest crayon in the box, though he does seem like an honest, trustworthy kind of guy. Really, he's an awful lot like Major Kong. Just doing his job, with a tough-soldier bravado.
