- We get a montage of B-52 bombers flying in the air, and our friendly announcer voice guy informs us that America keeps a fleet of these planes in the air at all times.
- What are they doing up there?
- Oh, just waiting to be ordered to drop nuclear bombs on Russia at any moment.
- Inside one of these B-52s, a multi-ethnic crew looks bored. They're eating lunch and reading girlie magazines.
- One crewmember gets the command that Plan R is in effect.
- He can't believe it; it must just be a training exercise.
- The crew figures that the Soviets must have started it; the U.S. would never have attacked first.
- Oh, the humanity! The guys figure the folks back home must have already been hit.
- The super cowboy-fied commanding officer, Major T.J. "King" Kong double checks the code. It's real. Plan R is evidently a very big deal.
- Kong dons his cowboy hat and in his Texan drawl declares that the U.S. must be at war with the "Russkies."
- Kong gives his fellers a patriotic clichéd pep talk about how important their job of dropping a nuclear bomb is going to be. They're doin' it for the folks back home.
