El muchacho de Trabb es el bravucón y el rebelde del vecindario. Es el hijo del sr. Trabb, el sastre, y le gusta burlarse de Pip por ser demasiado popular para la escuela. En otras palabras, simplemente dice lo que todo el mundo piensa. O a veces actúa de acuerdo a lo que todo el mundo piensa:

suddenly the knees of Trabb's boy smote together, his hair uprose, his cap fell off, he trembled violently in every limb, staggered out into the road, and crying to the populace, "Hold me! I'm so frightened!" feigned to be in a paroxysm of terror and contrition, occasioned by the dignity of my appearance. As I passed him, his teeth loudly chattered in his head, and with every mark of extreme humiliation, he prostrated himself in the dust. (30.4)

Pip trata de actuar como si no le importara, pero… sí le importa. Si nunca hubiera conocido al convicto, habría terminado igual que este chico, hijo de un hombre trabajador y muy feliz con su vida.
