Music (Score)
While the scores for the first three Potter films were written by legendary composer John Williams, the music for Order of the Phoenix was created by Nicholas Hooper. He had some pretty big shoes to fill.
Hooper had previously worked in British television with director, David Yates, so he was a natural choice for this project. Rather than copying what John Williams had done with the other Potter films, Hooper decided to go his own way.
The results are a score that includes snippets of Williams work (sorry, but you cannot have a Harry Potter film without "Hedwig's Theme") as well as tunes that give us a real feeling of the growing sense of fear and dread in the series.
In any case, someone out there must have liked the score because Hooper was invited back to work on the music for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Pure magic.
