Social Interaction
- As she sits in Social Interaction (SI) class, Dominique wonders why Trina didn't walk around her in the hallway.
- Dominique doesn't think that she's one of the kids with problems, though the people in charge think she has a temper.
- Instead of listening to her teacher Fenster, Dominique thinks of her rules (which are totally different from the class rules): Don't mess with her and she won't mess with you.
- Especially after last year, when she got into a fight with three sophomore girls who were, according to Dominique, making fun of her. That's why Dominique's in SI.
- But the class isn't all bad. Fenster has convinced Coach to let Dominique on the basketball team because it would be good for Dominique and, so as long as Dominique keeps her nose clean and grades up, she's got minutes on the court.
- Dominique does the Do-Now, which asks her to list three priorities. When Dominique doesn't write them down, Fenster quizzes her. And Dominique lists them: get on the court, improve her grades, and work on defense.
- But really, her number one priority is Trina.
