Character Analysis
Big Sack is a large man who comes from the same hometown as Mam. He's a kind, gentle soul who does odd jobs for people around town—like mowing the Vollmers' lawn—and keeps an eye on his community. When Ara T beats up Mam and threatens to kill Victor, Big Sack is the one who steps in to stop him and tells him that he needs to leave town. He makes sure that Ara T isn't around to bother any of them anymore, which is great because otherwise Ara T would probably just keep on tormenting Mam and Victor.
