Mr. Spiro

Mr. Spiro is a pretty strange man—and we mean that in a good way. When Victor first meets him, he's immediately struck by how much Mr. Spiro loves to read and knows loads of interesting facts and stories. Through Mr. Spiro, Victor starts to love the process of learning and starts seeking out knowledge outside of school.

Mr. Spiro also talks to Victor like an adult and answers all his hard questions, which helps Victor grow up and form his own opinions about the world. Befriending Mr. Spiro definitely helps Victor see things from a different perspective and start becoming his own person.
