The Geek and Jake

Even though jocky Jake and the geeky Geek couldn't seem more different on the surface, they're more similar than you'd think underneath. Jake, who is so attractive he could date anyone he wants, is just as nervous about Sam is when it comes to asking someone out. (We have a feeling Caroline must have initiated their relationship.)

The Geek, on the other hand, is, well, a geek. He's not traditionally attractive the way Jake is, and he can be abrasive with his grating personality. But he has one thing Jake lacks: persistence. The Geek has no problem going up to Sam and letting her know what he wants.

In the end, the Geek convinces Jake to be more like him. And Jake lets the Geek realize he can get a girl without even trying, although considering the dubious nature of Caroline's lack of consent, that's another issue to think about on a different day.
