The Geek

As we said in the protagonist analysis, both Sam and the Geek can be considered protagonists of sorts, and in a way, they end up guiding each other during the scene at the auto shop. It is in the half-finished car when Sam reveals her vulnerable side to the Geek, something she didn't do on the bus, and he returns the favor.

Without that scene, and their showing compassion to one another, they wouldn't have ended up where they did at the end.
