- Ear, Eye, and Arm make their way over to Resthaven. Just because the General can't break in, doesn't mean they can't.
- They're a little scared about what might happen to them for trespassing, but they know they have a job to do.
- Ear keeps talking about different things he hears in the Subway—first footsteps, then voices. Eye and Arm think he's just getting distracted, but we're betting it's Tendai, Rita, and Kuda that he hears.
- They make it inside Resthaven and overhear two people arguing.
- It's the chief and the Spirit Medium, who disagree over what to do with Myanda.
- The Spirit Medium thinks that because she's a witch, they should arrange her funeral, so to speak (read: kill her). After all, it's her fault that she never got pregnant and gave the chief any babies. Plus, she no doubt infected Chipo and gave her evil twins somehow. Yeah, that's what happened…
- Luckily the chief disagrees. He obviously cares about Myanda and wants to save her.
- He tells the Spirit Medium to cast the evil spirits out of Myanda and into some pigs.
- Myanda catches a glimpse of the detectives and knows they are from the outside world.
- She knows that it's only a matter of time before the villagers kill Sekai, Chipo's girl twin—they won't feed the baby, so she can't survive long—so she gives Sekai to Arm to take care of. It's the only way to save her life.
- Before Arm can say anything, the chief and Spirit Medium realize he's there.
- Myanda pretends that Arm is actually the evil spirit, leaving her. She drops to the ground and shakes violently, even pulling out clumps of hair for dramatic effect.
- The Spirit Medium chases Arm out of there.
- Meanwhile, over in Borrowdale, Tendai looks for the Mellower's mom's place.
- When he finds it, he's not sure what to say.
- He rings the bells and explains who they are. The Mellower's mom says they can come inside but Trashman may not. He looks a little rough.
- He can hang around, but he can't drag his mud in the house. It's outside in the garden for him.
- They go inside and rest. It turns out Rita has chicken pox and needs some medicine, so help her out first.
- Tendai is so exhausted that he doesn't even think to call his parents. He's probably catching chicken pox, too, he figures, and plunks down on the bed.
