Sym doesn't just tell this story; she stars in it, too, from start to finish. Our girl may worry she's bad at communicating with others, but she does a great job of taking us readers behind the scenes of everything that's going on in Antarctica, as well as in her head and heart. As shady Victor strings her along on his perilous adventure, we hold our breath and hope she survives.
