Character Role Analysis
Evie Spooner / Bev Spooner
Evie and her mother serve as foils for each other in What I Saw and How I Lied. They are bound by blood and even share the same affair—they're both carrying on a romantic relationship with Peter Coleridge. However, whereas Bev is duplicitous and doesn't do anything when the Graysons are kicked out, Evie is honest about her feelings for Peter and cannot stand seeing any injustices in front of her. In the end, Evie resolves to be a better person than Bev is—she's going to make the right choices, even if the woman who raised her doesn't.
