In What Pet Should I Get?, the narrator and his sister, Kay, are seriously grappling with the titular question. They're at a pet store and have the permission (and funds) to buy a pet, but they have no idea what they should get. At first, they spot a dog and cat that they like, but soon their brains are inundated with lots of other cool animals. Eventually, there are so many potential pets swimming in their minds that they're totally overwhelmed. They want to take home all the pets, even those they haven't seen yet. What are these kids supposed to do?
