Quote #7
"Will you have sex with me?"
"I don't know what Martin would say. Does it count as adultery with a woman?" (2.1. 276-278)
When Lin asks Victoria for sex, Victoria main reaction seems to be curiosity about whether lesbian sex still counts as adultery. In a humorous way, Churchill uses this reaction to make fun of how people tend to get caught up with labels like gay, straight, or adultery instead of actually focusing on the pleasure of sex itself.
Quote #8
"I stared at him and he unzipped his flies." (2.2.35)
Gerry talks about his first sexual encounter with Edward in straightforward terms. The guy simply got on a train, saw a stranger, and had a sexual encounter with him. That's that, and if you're totally scandalized by this, Gerry doesn't really care. It happened, so deal with it.
Quote #9
"Hello. We're having an orgy. Do you want me to s--- your c---?" (2.3.92-93)
In the most polite of ways, Victoria decides to invite any random person walking in the park to join her orgy with Edward and Lin. She makes this offer in no uncertain terms by first offering to perform oral sex on the stranger. The thing is that the person walking by turns out to be her husband, Martin. And Martin's not one to say no to a random orgy in the park.
