Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR): Articles 18-21: Freedom of Thought Summary

Mind-Control Prevention Measures

  • Article 18: everyone has the right to freedom of thought. This includes all aspects of religious belief as well as the right to change your beliefs.
  • Article 19: you have the right to free opinion and expression. This includes being able to access information. Hear that, Google of the future?
  • Article 20: everyone has the right to gather in groups peacefully. Also, you can't be forced to belong to a group (for example, the Hitler Youth).
  • Article 21: major plugs for democratic government. Everyone has the right to participate in government with their own voice or through "freely chosen representatives" (21.1).
  • Everyone gets equal access to public services (like police protection and public education).
  • Government should be based on what the people want. The way to achieve this goal is through free elections. To quote Team America: "Freedom is the only way."
