- Travis drives his taxi around and almost crashes into the young prostitute, who was dragged out of his car by her pimp earlier.
- Travis follows her and another prostitute in the cab noting them as they pick up some johns.
- As he drives around, Travis discusses his loneliness on the voiceover, saying it's been the permanent condition of his life.
- Next, we see Travis meeting with a gun salesman—Easy Andy—who shows him a ton of guns, before Travis agrees to buy them all along with a holster.
- As Travis holds one of the guns, he aims it out of the window at some people.
- Travis declines when the guy offers him drugs.
- We see Travis doing push-ups, pull-ups, and lifting weights in his room. He also holds a hand over the stove.
