Character Analysis
Of the older generation of Jews in the neighborhood, Julius seems to have had the best luck. He used to be poor but found fortune after Prohibition ended. He obtained a liquor license and converted his shop to a liquor store. Sales have been good and now Julius has some control over other businesses in the neighborhood. He uses this to his own gain, inconsiderate of the costs to others. He brought in another grocer to the area, angering Morris.
