By the time the book ends, we are beyond ready to know what exactly has happened to the body of Chris Creed. Like, we've been wondering since we read the title. Fortunately for us, this isn't one of those cliffhangers or endings that leaves things up to our interpretation, and instead we get a nice, solid, concrete explanation for Chris's disappearance.
Which isn't to say that we actually see Chris. Oh no, nothing like that. Instead, we read an email from one of the people that Torey has sent his Creed.doc out to, from someone by the name of Victor Adams who suggests that Creed must have found a way to escape his terrible life in Steepleton via aunts who don't speak to his mother. In order to remain safely hidden, though, he doesn't want Torey finding him and announcing his discovery. Thankfully, it seems like this new life of Creed's is an improvement over his last one.
Though Adams never expressly says that he is Chris Creed, there's little room for doubt, based on the amount of information he addresses directly about Chris in his letter, and especially since he closes by writing, "And thank you for sharing your name," implying that whomever has written this note knows Torey… which indeed, Chris Creed does.
