In many noirs, the detective's an anti-hero. He could be violent, abusive, and manipulative. But Eddie Valiant is all hero. Didn't you see the last name: Valiant? Adjective: courageous, determined.

Sure, Eddie has a drinking problem, and okay, he has an irrational dislike of Toons, and there is that one time he beats that guy up at the bar…but he kind of deserves it.

Okay, Eddie starts as kind of an anti-hero. But he's definitely 100% heroic by the time he saves Toontown.
