Surrender Chapter 6 Summary

Finnigan

  • Finnigan and Surrender run through the forest, owning it; everyone backs down as they approach, even the trees.
  • Surrender is a sly dog. He can steal chickens from their coop and no one even sees him coming.
  • They are on the fringe of the town, but that's where they belong.
  • Finnigan's looking out for something, and quickly, he finds it—from what he describes (a blue tent and collection bags), it looks like a crime scene.
  • Everyone is careful not to break anything or tamper with evidence.
  • Finnigan looks down at the scene and realizes they've already found the bones. He wishes they hadn't because then they could have gotten away scot-free.
  • Slowly, he and Surrender melt away into the forest.
