Multiple Impacts
- Like a true chivalrous gentleman, Bobby gets the door for the girl, all the while waxing poetic about her beauty. She tells him that she's still at high school, and he says that he'll see her around.
- Bobby gets onto the bus and as it pulls up in front of his house, he realizes something: His dad is already home. He's going to be in deep trouble.
- When he gets inside, his dad yells at him and tells him that it's dangerous for him to go outside. Bobby yells back that it was pretty insensitive of them to just go off to work after something so major happened to their son.
- His dad retreats to his study and Bobby hears him talking to his mom on the phone; he says that Bobby needs them both right now and that she should cancel any plans they have so that they can have dinner together as a family. Then he tells Bobby that he's going to pick up his mom.
- Bobby sits down in front of the television and falls asleep. When he wakes up, it's two hours later, and his dad's nowhere to be found even though he said that he'd be back in twenty minutes at the most.
- That's when Bobby sees something totally awful: The news is on now and it's showing a local car accident. One of the cars involved is his parents' car.
