How we cite our quotes: (Chapter.Paragraph)
Quote #1
When I opened the door Jas just looked at me like I'm an alien. "You look like an alien," she says. She really is a dim friend. It's more like having a dog than a friend, actually. (1.113)
Okay, so Jas is really tactless here, right? But the thing is, it's not like Georgia shows her friend a whole lot of kindness in return. Sure, she only calls her a "dog" and "dim" in her diary, but those aren't exactly stellar reviews for someone who's supposedly her best friend.
Quote #2
My biggest worry of all is the bloody beret. I must consult with the gang to see what our plan is. (2.157)
Georgia cares a whole lot about her friends' opinions, in this case about their school uniform. While plenty comes between these girls, they're pretty unified around their hatred for the beret.
Quote #3
Jas sort of went red, so I thought I would shut-up. Jas doesn't get angry very often but she has a hefty kick. (2.181)
Jas gets mad at Georgia after she teases her about where Tom works. What's interesting about this moment, though, is that it's one of the few times Georgia is concerned about hurting Jas's feelings. Yes, her concern might be a bit selfish, but it's a start.
