- After a brief stop on a cruise ship (probably a Disney cruise, let's be honest), Nico shadow-jumps the group to San Juan, Reyna's home. She is not happy to be home.
- Reyna isn't sure if Nico can shadow-jump again. He is turning into shadow, fading from reality.
- Before she can formulate a plan, someone shoots her in the neck with a silver dart and carries her away.
