Exactly how steamy is this story?

Other than references to Uther's sexual escapades, there's only one steamy—and pretty creepy—scene in the book. That's when Keridwen seduces Merlin on the hilltop above the cave and Merlin has an erotic but frightening sensation of panic: "[…] her body drew me into that tight and final darkness, no air, no light, no breath, no whisper of waking spirit. A grave inside a grave" (IV.8.39).
Premonition? Or first scary experience of sexual pleasure? We may never know.
