- Gemma falls asleep and sometime later wakes up to find that she's in another vision or memory.
- Gemma watches as her mother talks to the little girl version of herself about stars and about how she must remember that she loves her no matter what happens. She can't forget that.
- Then Gemma wakes up in the cabin again and finds that she's been crying in her sleep. The glimpse into her early life with her mother is just too much for her; it breaks her heart.
- She doesn't know what to do, so she decides to look for Alex. He doesn't seem to be anywhere in the cabin, though, so she sits down on the couch and waits.
- Then she sees him sitting on the porch and decides to go outside to talk to him. He's surprised that she's actually talking to him again.
- That's when Alex gives her something—a necklace with a violet stone carved in the center of a heart shaped pendant. He says it's something that her mother gave to her before everything happened. Gemma is touched and emotionally overwhelmed.
- He helps her put the necklace on and notices that she has a Foreseer's mark forming on the back of her neck. He says that it's interesting that she's a Foreseer because it usually is inherited and her mother was a Keeper.
- She asks about her father, and he says that no one knows who he is. Her mother insisted on keeping it a total secret from everyone—even the other Keepers.
- Because he's touching her, the electricity starts to affect them both; Alex eventually gives in and kisses her. Gemma can't help herself and kisses him right back.
- Then they just sit on the porch swing together and look up at the stars. How romantic.
- Gemma examines her necklace and realizes that it's a locket. When she opens it, she can see a group photo of people and recognition washes over her.
- She points to a man and asks Alex who it is. He says that's his father, Stephan, and Gemma immediately panics. The man is familiar to her because he's the one from her nightmares—he's the one working with Demetrius and forcing her mother into the lake in her dreams.
