- The first rule of VampMob is don't talk about VampMob.
- (There are some actual rules about how to play as well.)
- The game is going to be at the Civic Center. Ange and Marcus both invite two hundred people and it looks like they're all going to show up. Marcus tells us a bit about the history behind Civic Center and what this urban planner called Jane Jacobs had to say about cities needing to grow organically.
- VampMob starts with hundreds of kids dressed up in their vampire best. Everyone is running around yelling "bite, bite, bite, bite, bite" at the other players (19.20).
- Here come the cops. And the DHS. Following the endgame instructions, everyone falls to the ground pretending they've been gassed.
- All the people trying to head to work are freaked out.
- People are screaming. Sirens are going off. It's chaos.
- Wearing the red hat Masha told him to, Marcus runs towards the meeting place with Masha. He feels someone grab him.
- It's the pink-haired girl from Chapter 2. She's Masha. Marcus wants to go find Ange, Masha says the gas is going to come down in just a few minutes for real, and that they need to go.
- They head towards Market Street and make a quick wardrobe change. Marcus says he's sprained his foot, so his gait won't register on the cameras anyway.
- They head up a big hill mostly going by alleys. Then they hear someone telling them to freeze.
- It's Charles. He's recorded Marcus leading the VampMob and is going to call the cops. Masha goes and snatches Charles's phone away. She says she's DHS and taking Marcus in.
- She ties up Charles's wrists with a plastic handcuff strip. Marcus takes off running.
- Masha tackles him at the other end of the alley. She asks if he believed what she said.
- It's unclear whose side Masha is on right now.
- They get to a moving truck full of furniture and moving boxes. Masha makes eye contact with the man watching the van; he says they left her some space under a table.
- Into the truck. Masha shows Marcus the picture she took of him, Jolu, Van, and Darryl right before they ended up in DHS custody.
- She says that once they get to LA and he's been briefed on how to be fugitive she'll give him a copy. She also says Darryl is safe enough where he is—for now (19.139).
- Masha falls asleep and Marcus thinks about Darryl. He realizes that he needs to stay and fight. So he steals Masha's phone from her pocket while she's sleeping.
- She wakes up and takes it back. Then he smashes Charles's phone (he stole it first on accident) into her hand, grabs her phone, and runs out of the truck. He drags down the door, probably catching Masha's fingertips, and padlocks it shut.
