- The day before the girls go home for the spring holiday, Tutor Olana throws them a curveball: she's going to give them a test, and only the girls who pass will be allowed to go home.
- The next morning, Tutor Olana announces the scores to the anxious girls, and tells them that only two of them have passed—Katar and Miri. The rest will have to stay.
- Miri protests, and Esa stands up and says that she'll be going home anyway. Then Miri finds the perfect opportunity to use her quarry-speech.
- She starts singing and stomping while conjuring up a memory of a childhood game they played where you scream, "Rabbits, run!" and everyone darts off.
- And sure enough, the girls get the message and run off, even though Tutor Olana is going to be very mad. When they walk home, Esa tells Miri that she thought Miri was mad at her this whole time for taking Katar's side. The other girls—like Frid—gather around and are friends with her again.
- Together, they all head home for the big spring holiday celebration. Yay.
