What's Up With the Title?
When William Goldman was trying to come up with a bedtime story he could tell his daughters, he asked them what they wanted to hear about. One of them said, "princesses." The other said, "brides." And just like that, Goldman had his title (source).
Didn't even need to cut them in on the royalties for their contribution, either.
Fortunately for all of us, his daughters didn't request a story about "lizards" and "peanut butter," or it would have been a different story entirely.
