How could we not want to go on Deanna's journey with her? Sure she may have a depressing life, but reading her journal is like sneaking into your best friend's diary. The major conflict she faces—how to get past that awful night, which means making peace with both Tommy and her dad—is one that almost anyone can relate to. We may not all have had a bad reputation, but we've all been misunderstood. Deanna may be fighting a battle of grudges with her dad, but more than that, she's fighting a battle within herself—one she can only win with forgiveness.
